Year in review 2021
2021 has been a great year for Students for Amani! Notwithstanding the pandemic, we were able to meet our yearly goal and started supporting a new project. Once again, this was only possible thanks to your donations and support. A massive thank you from the students for Amani team!

Here is a recap of what has been a truly incredible year for students for Amani.
January
We started the year with great news! As of the 4th of January, Kenya has opened schools again. After many months of homeschooling, the kids were really happy to go back to school and socialise again.
February
Love is in the air! We decided to spread the love with our valentine's campaign by sending a special Valentine’s card for every donation. Please, take a look at some of the lovely Valentine’s cards that our marketing team designed. Thank you so much for all the great work Julia and Andrea! Our supporters and their loved ones really appreciated them!
March
Already two years old? It is with great joy that we can say that in March 2021, Students for Amani turned two years old. It is unbelievable to think about where this journey brought us, and we are excited about the challenges and opportunities we will face in the future. To celebrate our birthday, we organised a week filled with events. A particular thank you to Brandy and Lucia for helping us organise the cooking workshop and mindfulness chat. We hope you enjoyed the events and look forward to celebrating our birthday next year!
June
In June, we finally managed to organise our first in-person event! After many months of lockdown, we decided to organise a Yoga class to promote physical and mental health while enjoying some fresh air in a beautiful park in Zurich. The event was a huge success, and we managed to raise £315 for our new project in Romania.
After many months of research, we finally found a second project to support. We are glad to announce that we have decided to partner with Hilfe für Rumanische Waisenkinder.
We will be helping them by covering the £1500 per year necessary to hire one teacher to support the kids with their homework. We decided to partner with this project as it aligns with our goals and values. The project creates long-lasting, sustainable benefits for the kids and the community, by focusing on education. Many people who once stayed in one of the family homes now have successful careers and their own families.
We also really appreciated the high level of transparency and personal connection with the members of the association. For all these reasons, we decided to start supporting them. Click here if you want to learn more about our second project.
September
To discuss our new project, we organised a Tropical evening at Tapijnkazerne in Maastricht. A huge tank you to Tapijnkazerne, Philia Maastricht and O.H.D Odysseus for helping us to organise the event. Thank you to everyone who came as we managed to raise £370 for Hilfe fur Rumanische, making us closer to our £1500 yearly goal.
November
To kick off the Christmas season and celebrate the end of the year, we organised a series of bakesales and a Christmas booklet with riddles and DIY ideas.
If you want to learn more about what we did in 2021, go and have a look at our yearly report!
It has been a really exciting year with many news and new exciting challenges, and we cannot wait for what 2022 will bring us.
In total, we raised £6972 thanks to our events and partner donations, what an incredible achievement!
This was only possible because of your continuous help and support, so a big thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and we hope this year will bring joy to everyone!
